LifePoint Church exists to inspire people to live the life they were created to live in Jesus Christ. We believe that God created everyone with a unique purpose and destiny. We desire to help you find God's purpose for your life in a casual and friendly environment. Even if you have never been to church before, we are committed to being a church where you will love to attend!
What We Believe About:
The Bible
We believe the Bible to be written by men under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and contains the only way to salvation and eternal life. God moved men to write the very words of the Bible; therefore we believe it is without error.
The Trinity
We believe that God exists in three distinct persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
The Father
God the Father created us in His image and longs to have an initimate realtionship with us, His children. He is all powerful, all knowing and present everywhere at all times. He is holy and righteous, full of love, mercy and grace.
The Son
Jesus Christ is the perfect, sinless Son of God. He came down from Heaven to pay the price for our sins so that we may be made right before the Father. He was crucified, but was resurrected by God three days later and sits at the right hand of the Father making intercession for us today.
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is God's gift to the church empowering us to live a spirit led and victorious life here on earth. The Holy Spirit also equips believers to be strong witnesses for Christ through the baptism of the Holy Spirit as was experienced on the Day of Pentecost.
Man
Everyone was created by God to have an intimate relationship with Him. However, after sin entered the world, man lost that divine fellowship through disobedience. Everyone has sinned and will one day stand before the Father to face the punishment of their disobedience. However, those who accept God's gift of grace and mercy by faith in Jesus Christ will be saved.
Salvation
Though everyone has sinned and is in danger of facing God's wrath and judgment, we can all be saved through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ which was poured out on our behalf at the cross. Salvation occurs when we believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as payment in place of our sins and punishment. Salvation is a free gift from God and cannot be earned any other way.
Eternity
Man is an eternal creature, created to exist forever. After we die, our earthly bodies will cease to function; but our spirit and soul will live forever. Those who believe in Jesus Christ for their salvation will spend eternity with God in Heaven. Those who die without putting their faith in Jesus Christ and His work on the cross for their sins will spend eternity in Hell. Heaven and Hell are real eternal places. However, it is God's will that no one would suffer the eternal consequences of hell, but would find forgiveness for their own sins through faith in Jesus Christ.
The Church
The church is a local community of believers who pray for and encourage one another while joining together to worship God and spread His message of hope and love all over the world. Though the church is made up of many different memebers, each with their own unique gifts and abilities, we are all called to function together as one body to bring glory to Jesus Christ.
